I'm Ellen Scott: a Graphic Artist with over 13 years of experience as a professional designer. Currently located in Brooklyn, I am inspired by the people, art, and culture of New York every day. In 2018, I started my own design business under the moniker Elly Kaya to pursue new creative endeavors, explore different industries, and expand on my skillsets.

Hey Y’all!

Much of my design experience began with print work. I spent 6 years as an in-house graphic designer for Luxe Interiors & Design magazine, gaining valuable and extensive editorial and print publishing experience. Since starting Elly Kaya I have welcomed many digital design and art direction projects ranging from E-commerce design, social media content creation, blog and email marketing design, print and digital look books and more.

I have a deep love for typography, hand-lettering, calligraphy, and projects with a special focus on type. This has led me to work on several logo and branding projects over the years. I continually practice and hone my hand-lettering and calligraphy skills and hope to add more custom lettering and illustration work to my portfolio in the future! 



Born and raised in Kentucky, I attended University of Louisville (GO CARDS!) for a BFA in Communication Art and Design. After graduating, I moved to South Florida where I began my career, gaining valuable experience from several different jobs over the course of 10 years. In 2019 I relocated to Brooklyn, where I now spend my time exploring NYC with my partner, snuggling Kaya, taking care of my plants, and dancing to good music.
